ICWA (now CMA) Intermediate is the second level of the Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) course conducted by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI). It prepares students for careers in cost and management accounting, taxation, and financial management.
To be eligible for ICWA Intermediate, a candidate must have cleared the CMA Foundation course or hold a graduate degree in any discipline (except Fine Arts).
The ICWA Intermediate course consists of two groups, each containing four papers: Group I: Financial Accounting, Laws & Ethics, Direct Taxation, Cost Accounting Group II: Operations Management & Strategic Management, Cost & Management Accounting, Indirect Taxation, Company Accounts & Audit
The exam is conducted twice a year (June & December) and consists of descriptive and objective-type questions. A minimum of 40% marks in each paper and 50% in aggregate is required to pass.
To excel in ICWA Intermediate, candidates should follow the ICAI study material, solve past papers, take mock tests, focus on conceptual clarity, and practice time management.
